Description

A rabbit in a blue pinafore dotted with red stands beside a toadstool, front paws down, pink-lined ears straight up, looking out at you with the composure of someone who has been waiting a while and does not mind.

Beside her the toadstool has a coral cap with cream spots, gills stitched in brown, and a dark doorway cut into the stem, so it is a house as much as a mushroom. Dark green fern sprigs grow up on both sides with red berries tucked among them.

Where the others in this group fade from sky to grass, this one stays moss green from the strap to the hem, with only the soft tonal drift that comes of felting by hand. It lets the white of her coat and the blue of her pinafore do all the talking.

Inside it is lined and closed with a zip, with a felted ball at the pull, and the strap is a long band of felted wool that wears across the body. Made from New Zealand wool.
