Mushroom Cottage Felted Wool Crossbody Bag

A fairy has fallen asleep on her own roof. She is draped over the cap of the toadstool with her white wings out, an orange dress, and a yellow flower pinned in her brown hair, and below her the cottage goes on without her: a rose-pink cap freckled with cream, a ruffled collar under it, a stout tan stem with an arched door and a yellow flower for a handle. Two smaller toadstools stand either side, their gills stitched in brown, and a log step runs across the threshold.

Up the right-hand side climbs a stand of embroidered flowers, marigold and buttercup and pink, with red berries knotted in among them.

The sky does the rest. Each bag is felted as a gradient, saturated at the top and sinking through to moss green at the hem, so the cottage always sits on grass no matter what color the weather is. Five skies to choose from.

Inside it is lined and closed with a zip, with a felted ball at the pull, and the strap is a long band of felted wool that wears across the body. Made from New Zealand wool.
