Description

Three big daisies sit across the middle of this one, orange with a purple eye, mustard with a blue eye, pale blue with a red eye, and the rest of the cream ground has been filled in around them: small square flowers in pink and green and violet, dark fern fronds, orange and coral stems, scattered dots. Along the top runs a blue scalloped line with dark green teeth above it and a pink dot in every arch, like a garden fence seen from the path.

None of it is thread. The flowers are wool, needle-felted petal by petal into the surface so they stand proud of it and catch the light differently from the ground. Look closely and you can see the fiber direction in each petal.

Around three sides runs a row of felt pom-poms in two dozen colors, strung on cord and whipstitched on one at a time. The zip is lined, the pull is a white felt ball, and the strap is a long felted cord.

Pure New Zealand pasture wool naturally repels dust and light spills thanks to its dense, organic fiber structure.

Day-to-dayBrush gently with a soft brush, working around the raised flowers rather than over them. Cream wool shows marks, so keep it away from denim and newsprint.

Spot cleaningDab with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap, then blot dry.

ReshapingPress flat with your hands and air dry away from direct heat. Roll the pom-poms between your fingers to round them again.

NeverMachine wash or soak. The saturated motifs sit against a pale ground and can bleed into it.
